GRACE SLICK & THE GREAT SOCIETY - Collectors Item 1971

This is my 1971 double album made up of 2 previous releases, 'Conspicuous Only In It's Absence' and 'How It Was' - all live recordings from 1966 at The Matrix in San Francisco where Jefferson Airplane were the house band.
'Collectors Item' contains the original live performances of 'Someone to Love', 'White Rabbit' and 'Sally Go 'round the Roses'
Grace Slick and the Great Society were Grace, her then-husband Jerry Slick and his brother Darby Slick. They only released one single, 'Someone to Love' written by Darby Slick.
When Airplane's lead singer Signe Toly Anderson left the band, Grace took over, leaving the Great Society to fade away.
After Grace joined them, Jefferson Airplane recorded the Darby Slick song 'Someone to Love' and retitled it 'Somebody to Love'. They also recorded Grace's composition 'White Rabbit' and released them both on their 'Surrealistic Pillow' album (highly recommended !!)
Grace stuck with them through their various incarnations .. Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Starship.
As far as I am concerned, her best years were in the 60s on albums such as 'Surrealistic Pillow' ' After Bathing at Baxters' and 'Volunteers'
