TOMMY - London Symphony Orchestra Album 1972

Todays album from the vault is my 1972 original release of The Who's famed rock opera 'Tommy'
This one has The London Symphony Orchestra with guest soloists: Pete Townshend; Roger Daltrey; John Entwistle; Sandy Denny; Rod Stewart; Ringo Starr; Steve Winwood; Merry Clayton; Richie Havens; Maggie Bell; Richard Harris.

It was classed as the first-ever "coffee-table album" and it's easy to see why. It came in a hard box outer sleeve containing 2 albums, a lavishly illustrated booklet and a gatefold pinball table.
Once you hear Ringo doing 'Fiddle About' you'll see him in a different light.

Rod Stewart does a great version of 'Pinball Wizard'. He was meant to be singing the original Roger Daltrey main role but as Pete Townhend and Daltrey got more and more involved in the project, Rod was whittled down to just 'Pinball Wizard'.
