This is my 1970 release of Rod Stewarts second album 'Gasoline Alley'.
There's a few asthetic things I love about it. Firstly, it's a good old 70s gatefold, but this time it's TEXTURED !! Oooh!!
The label also features a 'swirl' design on the 1st side .. guaranteed to get you spacey when you stared at it too long.
The musicians are mainly members of Rods group 'The Faces' but the credits say " "Mac not available due to bus strike" which refers to Ian McLagan (keyboards).
The tracks are made up of a variety of originals and covers .. Rod and Ronnie Wood doing some of their own stuff, but also Dylans 'Only a Hobo', Eltons 'Country Comfort' and Womack & Womacks brilliant 'It's All Over Now' (also done by the Stones early in their career)
With an interesting cover, a mind-altering label and some great music, this is one of my prized albums.
