MALCOLM McLAREN - Duck Rock 1983

"ALL THAT SCRATCHING IS MAKING ME ITCH"

In 1983 British impresario Malcolm McLaren, advisor to The New York Dolls, manager of The Sex Pistols and Bow Wow Wow, turned his attention to producing 'DUCK ROCK' probably one of the most ecclectic albums in the history of ever !!
It brought in styles from Central and South America, South Africa, the Caribbean and the USA and probably helped promote hip hop to a far larger audience around the world.
The genre listing for the album covers Electronic - Hip Hop - Latin - Funk/Soul - World and Old School.
Between the tracks are clips of the 'World's Famous Supreme Team' radio show on WHBI-FM 105.9 broadcasting from Newark, New Jersey. Their 'scratching' is also heard on the track 'Buffalo Gals' where scratching is used with square dancing calls.
This is an amazing album. The two hits, 'Buffalo Gals' and 'Double Dutch' are worth the price, but sit back and enjoy the rest - all the way to 'Duck For The Oyster'.
